E30 (1982 - 1993)
God's Chariot. The E30 was produced primarily from 1982 through 1991. The cabriolet was the one exception which was produced through 1993.

Question e30 1987 325is cranks but doesnt start

Hello guys need some help i have a 87 325is the car has been gutted installed a kill switch im setting the car up for a chump race the car ran fine and started battery died got a new one now the car wont start but i can roll start it and drive it no problem while cranking i dont have 12 volts at my coil i have fuel i have air any idea i have power at my ecm and my relays and fuses are all good very frustrated and the wiring diagrams for this car blows!

I know a lot about cars. I can look at a car's headlights and tell you exactly which way it's coming

if you don't have 12 volts at the coil while cranking, you know to start there. it could be the ignition switch or wires. check to see what voltages the ignition switch is getting. it should get 12 volts in the start position & if not, either the switch is bad or the wires are bad in the system. do voltage drops across the whole system and see what you get.
