New Owner

Hi everyone,

Just took delivery of a new X3 SE we saw at the dealers last Sunday. We didn't expect to buy a car that day but they had some pre-registered cars loaded with extras at a £6000 saving on list. As you hardly ever get a good deal in the UK on BMWs we acted immediately. Our buying experience was ruined by one guy who tried to sell us GAP insurance, tyre cover, etc. When we did not take the bait he made us feel like cheapskates for not talking the extras. We had already stumped up £499 for special paint and cloth protection, so this would have seen our trade in disappear in paperwork!! We ran out of time to really look at the car and get our full tank of diesel before they closed. I went back a couple of days later having found his insurance for 60% of his price. I saw the guy and told him he was an arse and I had found a better deal on the net, plus I got my tank of fuel. I could have got the paint deal for less as well. These salesmen are a pain!! Love the car.

Two days in we got a Smartnav system fitted as my wife does not do maps. However, the antenna was mounted an inch away from the rear view mirror mount on the windscreen with grey backed tape, so it looks a mess from the outside. I'm hoping the guy will return and put it next to the mount with black tape so it matches.

I may return and ask how to remove the mounting tape and pillar trim!!
