If you're actually going to manual shift a lot I'd say so. Keep in mind I went with the 6MT though.

yea, get the mf down, and the sport auto is a no brainer imo. shifts are so fast.

I would love to get the car in MT but my wife cant drive stick.

I have the sports auto, if you can't go 6-speed, it's the next best option.

Aside from the paddle shifters. Is there a noticeable difference in how the gearbox reacts when driven in automode? Or the sports part is that it has paddles?

This reminds me of a quote I read once in another forum, from a self labelled enthusiast:

Does that payment include tax?

It's seems it's not that far from $1000, but I guess the car has other goodies aside from the ones you listed. Check out BMWConfig.com to find out MSRP and invoice. The equipment list you provided doesn't add up to $52k

MSRP is high.
Make sure they itemize all the inception fees (I asume the $2500 is going towards those, and not to cap reduction?)

when you kick the active suspension into sport or sport + modes, it will shift much quicker and aggressively. In comfort, Eco modes, it's very subtle and more like a standard auto.

The shifting in sport mode is pretty good, responsive and quick. I didn't even consider autos when i was shopping, and ultimately went with the sport auto over a manual solely based on price, but I did not feel I was giving up so much that I wouldn't be happy.

As for the paddles, IMO they are gimmicky, but an option nonetheless. To compare it a manual is unfair, there is no comparison. It's a compromise if you cannot get the 6-speed, and still want some interaction with the vehicle.

At the time of the orig quote they had not run my credit. My new mf is .00135

$2500 @ signing
627 a month unless I add the sports transmission (which I am) they quoted me $465 for it

It doesn't look bad 1k over invoice + 200 doc fee = 1200 over invoice though.

I just got my production number it is in status 112 scheduled for production. I hope i don's have to wait weeks for production to begin.
