Picked up my X1 yesterday. It was ready on Oct.5, so 39 days from order to delivery. It arrived in Baltimore 9/28 and took a week to get to my dealer here in KY. The car is a stunner, BTW!

West Coast deliveries take longer, obviously, with the Panama Canal etc. Read somewhere it's about 25 days from Bremerhaven to Port Hueneme (north of LA).

I ordered mine on 8/21/12 and it took exactly seven weeks to be able to pic it up on 10/9/12.

Also ordered on 8/21. Vehicle completed 9/3, shipped out of Bremerhaven on the NHK Antares Leader 9/15? Arrived at Port Hueneme on 10/9...hopefully it gets up here in the PNW in the next two weeks. You guys on the east coast are lucky!

Just saw on MyBMW my /22 ordered X1 has left production and is "ready to ship." Next freighter for Port Hueneme from Bremerhaven seems scheduled for Saturday 10/20. If my X1 makes it on board, it will be here before Thanksgiving. Gobble gobble!

Fidelio
Is going through the Panama Canal right now....still lists a 10/20 arrival in Pt. Hueneme. This is taking FOREVER! My dealer has four x1s on the lot including one almost identical to the one I ordered except in deep sea blue with red leather. There are dealer pictures and it is a nice color combination - google BMW of Murrieta if you want to see the pics. I'm tempted to just get that one
Talk about anticipation!!! I'm jealous of all the east coasters.

So if Murrieta BMW is your dealer, they were a little lax in not looking ahead at their scheduled allocation. I know when I initially went to my local dealer in late August and told them what I wanted, they looked at their allocation and said they had nothing coming in like that. Weirdly, instead of telling me to order, they seemed reluctant to do so, and sort of convinced me to choose an X1 that was "sorta" of like what I wanted. That was one they knew would be coming in as of about two weeks ago now. I eventually decided I really wanted what I wanted, and cancelled that deposit to order my X1 from a different dealer. That dealer (Beverly Hills BMW) also looked at all their incoming cars, and maybe incoming cars for all So Cal, and placed the order after confirming nothing like what I wanted was on its way in.
If Murrieta had done that for you and this Deep Sea Blue one was to your liking, you'd be driving it today, I suppose... |

Schedule allocation
No, we did that and there were no cars that were exactly what I wanted so I ordered it 'my way'. But now that the other car is just sitting there.....I'm purposely staying away so I won't be tempted.

Somebody may have changed their minds so that car is now available.

Fidelio has just docked in Port Hueneme today. It will be just a few more days until it gets to the dealers and they can prep it for me to pickup by next weekend. I can't wait.

I ordered 9/22. Came out of production 10/10? Somewhere like that. Just discovered that my X1 is on the Topeka, which left Bremerhaven Saturday the 21st. Due into Port Hueneme (on its way to Tacoma) 11/14.
So if I manage to pick it up Saturday 11/17 that will be exactly 8 weeks. By the way, neither MyBMW or the BMW phone line has the shipping update. But I used that cargo company (Wallenius Wilhelmsen) site to confirm it is on the Topeka. Just use "track and trace" and enter the VIN in the "Cargo ID" field. BMW will probably be updated in another day or so. |

Order - Ship time
Ordered 27-Sept-2012; manufactured 12-Oct-2012; on the Topeka leaving Bremerhaven on 21-Oct-2012; ETA Port Hueneme (Southern California port) 14-Nov-2012. Then add processing time and truck shipment to Roseville, CA. Turkey day probably will be in my hands.
X1 sDrive 28i; Sport Line; Aluminum trim; lighting package; premium package; Sirius satellite radio 1 yr subscription; Cashmere Silver; dealer-added mud flaps. |

Sandy, you B...
Just went to the Wallenius track and trace page to check in on my X1, one of a couple, at least, from this forum on the Topeka. It had been scheduled to arrive in Port Hueneme 11/14, but as of today it will be a day late - Thursday 11/15.
So this West Coastie now considers Sandy to be the worst ever hurricane. And the Daily Show is cancelled for tonight! Oh the humanity. |

The storm is a big deal. It is stronger than the 1938 hurricane that hit New England and the 1938 storm was real wrath of God stuff. NYC has to hope that the storm surge does not get high enough to flood the subway system.
It looks like my car won't be impacted as the rumor mill says the Triton Leader will actually arrive a day early, one week from today.... |

Tracking the Topeka ... 30 Oct 2012
Tracking my X1 on its journey to Port Hueneme (and I notice others are also) ... even though the ship is out of range of the AIS land based location systems, you can catch up with it as it squawks out its GPS location periodically.
Use this URL: http://www.marinetraffic.com/ais/dat...ode=&B1=Search And click on the most recent (top of the list) coordinates, which will then map it for you. As of 2145 hrs UTC on 30-oct-2012 (-7 hours for Pacific Daylight, so 1445 hrs Pacific) it looks like the Topeka is in the middle of its transit of the Atlantic. Just trying to assist the other OCD types out there waiting on their new ride. dmegeath - sDrive 28i X1 Sportline in Cashmere Silve Metalic/black leather interior + Sirius radio + aluminum trim + Premium pckg + Lighting pckg (coming soon to a dealer in Northern California) |

Thanks for that link! I hope those seas aren't too rough...
When I first looked at the X1 my initial color choice was Cashmere Silver. Lighter colors are more user-friendly for a lazy man such as myself, and the conventional glacier silver is handsome but silver cars are so dang common. Ended up ordering the Midnight Blue though... Well we have a couple weeks, and a couple days, to go till the Topeka makes port... |

I ordered mine 8/31/12 and picked it up 10/26/12 so it took 8 weeks exactly.
