F31 update
Hi all,
Been looking around but can't find any confirmed dates for f31s becoming available/spec-able. Last I heard was beginning of 2013. Can anyone confirm? I'm primarily focused on discovering whether a 328i wagon in 6-speed manual is on the horizon.

It will arrive in showrooms in the spring of 2013. No mention of a 6 speed, probably won't make it to the US unless we can convince BMW otherwise.

I wonder how many of us would need to petition them to get a stick. E91 6MTs are thin on the ground too

It's going to be dissapointing if the f31 does not offer a manual trans on any model line. Well, I will continue patiently waiting

It's never been very big. Tracking some stuff through wikipedia, I discovered a press release from 2002 noting about 3500 sales - but that's out of a total of over 110K 3-series sales. Other years appear similar; around 3000 wagons per year fairly equally divided between 325i and 325xi.

Honestly,
Given the X1 I'm somewhat surprised they are even brining the F31 to the US at all. And X1 is slush box only.

I'm 99% sure that the 3er touring will only be offered with the automatic in the US. Heck, I think that was even in the US press release material.
If you want a practical, luxury hatch or wagon with 3 pedals, may I suggest the Audi A3? |
