New owner... NAV and screen display questions.

New to this forum.

I recently purchased a 2004 545i.

It looks like my idrive display screen is smaller than others I have seen. Did they come with different size screens depending on the options? Mine appears to have so many options and yet, no heated seats, no heads up display and I am not sure whether it has NAV. I've been told that all I need is the cd/dvd's and it will work. On the display, where I have seen Navigation on others, mine says Car Data. Is that a default when no Nav cd's are installed?

Also, I do have the Motorola V60 Bluetooth installed but my "MyTouch 4" smart phone will connect and place phone calls but I cannot hear the person on the other end and they cannot hear me. So close! Any ideas?

I would suggest getting the build sheet from the place where you got your BMW from. If you got it from an Independent dealer then go to a BMW dealer and they should be able to look up what options your car has from the VIN. I know that Heads Up Display is not a standard option. If you dont have heated seats maybe your car didnt have the cold weather package. And welcome to the BMW family as well.

Thanks. I did look up the VIN on one of the suggested websites. No mention of NAV. Guess I don't have that.

When I was looking at getting my E60, I saw many that had the option on the iDrive but didnt have navigation. I would think that cars that dont have that shouldnt have that screen active.

Small screen = no navigation.

My 08 didn't have Nav and had the smaller screen and Car Data as you mentioned.
HUD was optional.

If the main screen on the iDrive screen doesn't have a nav option, then it doesn't have nav.
