Glove Box

So last night my girlfriend decided I didn't need the handle for my glove box and broke it off. Little did I realize the locking mechanism made it almost impossible to open. So after breaking a lot of small plastic pieces she got her book out of my demolished glove box and life was continued.

I am wondering were to get a complete glove box. Lol there is no E34 in the local junk yards but there's a E28,36,and 30 would they work or no?

I had a destroyed glove box due to a break in and it was then locked shut. I was able to pinch the locking mechanism to finally get the glove box open.
I bought the lock kit online. It came with a million small springs and pins accompanied by German text. Most of those parts are not used.
Only the ones needed to rekey the lock to your car key.
BMW wanted $150 to set up the lock barrel! I went to a local lock smith who did the job in 15 minutes for $25. I, of course, did the instal which was very simple.

you shouldnt need the whole thing, the handle is replacable on the glove box.

just go to a wrecker and get one.

Wreckers are a good first resort.

Mine is missing the handle and I just pinch the half moon towards the drivers side and it pops open

Guys, his Girlfriend probably ripped the whole glovebox apart, not just the handle.

No I gotta look at it again. But it looked like I broke the plastics mounts to hold the looking stuff on. The mounts seem to be one assembly with the glove box.

1) Replace glove box. 2) Replace girlfriend.

the real issue here is the girlfriend...

Mine doesnt like my bimmers. They're "old" and "gross." When i picked up my E28 her EXACT reactaion was ::see if i'm being serious:: followed by "ew." with a grimace.

Needless to say the broad loves the Z. shes shallow i guess.

She loves to drive my E34, and i think she likes my conquest more than me. Don't know why she's only been in it twice LOL. It is one of the sexist things on this planet tho.

Thanks guys.... First of all I love his car I just wanted my book out of the glovebox and it was dark and I didn't pull it very hard.
Second, I only broke the handle Josh did a fine job of breaking the rest.
