2013 528i purchasing question

Hi Everybody

New to the forum and looking forward to getting a new BMW. Just had a couple of questions about the new 2013 BMW 528i pricing, negotiating, etc..

1) First, MSRP for the car I want is about 55k (alpine white, premium package, technology package, and driver assistance package). BWMconfig lists invoice at around 51k. What chance do I have for getting the car under invoice? What I am realistically looking at in terms of pricing?

2) Should I wait until November 1 for greater incentives?

3) Any negotiating tips when dealing with BMW? I would greatly appreciate any help in saving money.

Since Jon S. just hinted that there will most likely be good incentives later this year, it seems logical that you should wait if you can.

As for pricing, I see you are in CA, so just work with one of the board founders and sponsors (like Jon S, Greg P, etc.) and they should give you excellent service/pricing.

If you could use a new 2012 you could really get a deal. I just leased a '12 328i for about $3,000 under invoice but that included $750 loyalty. Remember that the dealer invoice has a $180 training fee and usually MACO, an advertising fee that is around $400 in metro areas. Also, BMW dealers have a doc fee or dealer fee that you must pay. This varies from stupid high like $699 to something less. I paid $389 on my 328. MACO was $300. November may have some better deals based on what Jon said. The key to buying a car is to know their true cost and then make and offer that gives them some profit but not too much. Keep in mind that in the grand scheme of things it really doesn't matter if you get the absolute low, you just want a good deal which might be around $500 to $1000 over their cost. Today, the problem is knowing what their cost really is.

Use a board sponsor. In your case I recommend emailing Jon Shafer (The creator of the website). I can almost guarantee you will never have an easier car purchase in your life.

I am working with a salesman at Crevier but if that doesn't work out then I will definitely email Jon. I see from reading the forums that he's great to work with.

I'm in Irvine so I was looking at Irvine and Crevier BMW. Irvine BMW was a bit too pushy so I went with Crevier and they've been ok so far.

I watched part of the game since I was at work but it was painful.

Yeah you guys weren't supposed to lose until we beat you this weekend.

The salesman wants me to come in to discuss numbers. I've test driven the car but I didn't want to commit to looking at the numbers until I did my research. I was going to go in today but I'm going to wait until at least November 1 to see what the new deals are. He showed me the MSRP of 55k but that's about it.

I would ask them to for a price before you ever walk in, they should have no problem doing that for you since you know exactly what you want. Then use bmwconfig.com to get the actual invoice price of your car. Post the details - folks here will help. I can't say for a 528 but I got mine for $500 over invoice.

"come in and discuss numbers" means that you are not getting a good deal. I have learned from experience to get everything up front. Never step foot into a dealership if you don't have to. Obviously, you need to test drive the vehicle, but it looks like you have already done that.

Yea, I will give him a call tomorrow to get a price and work from there. Here is the picture of the breakdown of the car that I am interested in. BMWconfig said about 51k for the invoice price.

Call me for a counter offer... If you are going to lease forget a 528 and get a 535 the deal is much better! My direct contact info is below... Email me too please.
