Z3 Roadster (E36/7) Electric Side Mirror Acting Strange

So I have been meaning to fix this for years.

My passenger side electric side mirror points upward and when I use the electronic button inside the car, the mirror only goes up and pops and then keeps going up. (Mirror will not pan down). If I manually use my hand to push the mirror down, it will eventually float angling upward.

Any help with fixing this???

But it sounds as if you have a bad switch or the contacts on the adjustment motor are stuck.

Yeah, its pretty bad. I am bumping this thread so maybe someone else has an idea. I am planning on taking it apart soon but would like a heads up on things to check.

This is at least a good thread on how to get to the motor etc. Its written for the M:s, and is about painting the mirrorbase but it has good shots on how to open up the mirror and what to expect. http://www.zroadster.net/forum/viewt...p?f=18&t=23387
