BimmerTech Retrofit on 2009 F02 Experience

After much research on this forum and others, I just completed the BimmerTech Combox and 6NR retrofit on my 2009 F02. I utilized Patryk from BimmerTech and David Chow, the local installer here in Atlanta. My overall experience was fantastic. The parts were ordered and delivered to my local installer and then Patryk remotely codes from his location in Europe. They had my car for less than a day and David was extremely accommodating meeting me late at night for both drop off and pick up at his shop. Here is what I had done:

- Bluetooth audio
- Album art covers
- Office
- Better Bluetooth integration
- BMW Apps
- BMW Plugin
- Video playback
- Internet/BMW Live (these services require tethering enabled on the iPhone)
- Coding for remote windows and mirrors

So far it has been seamless and all components work well with my iPhone 5. I have also noticed subtle enhancements to my navigation and some of the menus and sounds throughout the car. One annoyance is that when you plug your phone into the USB it disables the Bluetooth audio and you have to manually re-enable each time. Patryk advised that this was the way it was and there was not a workaround unfortunately. It was a pleasure to work with David and Patryk and I would highly recommend these guys.

Congrats on the retrofit! Combox is really cool to have. Did you get the media or telematics version?

Looks like he has an affiliate shop in Dallas. Bimmer Motor Works. Go to his site and you can see a map of all his install locations.
