Soft knock in dashboard driver side.
I just recently noticed the soft knock on the top of my dashboard, well underneath the top on the driver side. Notice it mainly when idling and don't hear it at all when my radio is on.
Any ideas. The car seems to be running fine and I just put in a new battery. I am driving a 1997 328i. Thanks for any help. Last edited by tuggboat; 11-06-2012 at 02:45 PM.

Does it happen at any particular times? When steering, when accelerating, when braking, when hitting bumps?

Knock
I notice mostly when idling, it knocks at regular intervals.
