I'm not an expert on this stuff, but it sounds like a sticky lifter to me. When was the last time you changed the oil and what type/weight did you use?

I'm not an expert by any means, but I know loose spark plugs can cause engine knocking, somewhat like in this video . You can check your spark plugs and see if they are loose or maybe old.

Just my guess.

Could be a loose spark plug, but seems less likely to me. Definitely worth checking, though. You have a 318, so it's super easy to get to the spark plugs.

Ok I will check and about a month ago but it has only been driven about a week of that and 10 w 30 I think castrol syntec

Honesty, nothing I'm hearing sounds that bad to me. Hard to really know since cameras amplify certain noises. I can hear a slight ticking, but nothing that seems out of the ordinary for a high mileage 4-banger.

10W30 is a little light for our cars. I use 0W40 in winter, 10W40 in summer. I'm located in Ottawa, mind you I used the same in Calgary.

Ok I will put that in when I change the oil next , another quick question .... I'm taking off the upper and lower timing cases , should I drain the oil or will it be good?
