M Sport Package on 2010 528i

I am looking at a 2010 528i that has the M Sport Package. I like the exterior styling cues, but can someone tell me if the M Sport Package includes the sport suspension on a 2010 528i. I know it includes exterior styling features like shadowline trim, M wheels and different body trim. But does it also include the sport suspension? Or is that a separate option? TIA, Jeff

Think of M sport package as sport package + M extras

Jeff,

This is from the 2010 5 Series Sedan brochure:

"the Sport Package for the 528i and 535i deliver even more thrilling performance with sport suspension calibration and Active Roll Stabilization (ARS)"

Test drive... NICE!!!

Thanks for all of the responses.

Well I took the 528i M-sport for a test drive last night. It drives really nicely. I would prefer a manual transmission, but it seems these are very rare as most were built with an automatic transmission. However, this automatic (Steptronic) performs very, very well. I have a 2000 model year 328ci (coupe) with a manual transmission and was surprised at how well the 528i handles when compared to my 328ci. Acceleration, cornering and braking are all crisp with the 528i.

I looked for comparable 528i cars for sale with the M-sport package and I have found very few. It seems that nearly all of the 5 series with the M-sport package are 550i models, with a few 535i models. While my first choice would be a 550i M-sport with a manual transmission, I cannot justify the additional cost to purchase and operate (both fuel and maintanence).

Does anyone have any suggestions for what to look for when purchasing a CPO car? Also, any suggestions for negotiating the best possible price?

Just FYI, You can only get a CPO car from a BMW dealer no matter what other dealers state. Just check with BMWNA and they will confirm the same thing. Had a buddy buy a "CPO" car from a NON BMW dealer and Called in the vin to BMW and they stated that it was indeed a CPO car only to find out 6 months later from the BMW dealer that he took it to for some minor repairs that it was NOT considered a CPO car. In short, the car was deemed as a CPO car at the BMW dealer that checked it out and it sat on the lot for 3 months. Dealer sold it at auction to another NON BMW dealer and the CPO disappeared, poof!! Long story short, if it's not a BMW dealer then its not a CPO!!!

Jeff I purchased my 2010 as a CPO from a BMW dealership here in San Diego. To me, it's the only way to purchase a used BMW.
