How can it be? That means the car was driven 135 miles each and every day for the last nine years. You should take a picture of the miles in the dash and post it. that makes me feel good because mine would probably last for ever the way I drive it and it's only a 2006

Ok so round trip every day to work 125miles 5 days a week weekend trips every other weekend to Atlantic city, Summer trips to beach house at Myrtle Beach and 3 trips sometimes only 2 a year to Vegas = 425,000 miles. I drive or Drove it everywhere!!! The thing was bullet proof. Now to see how well my 05 545i takes that kind of punishment!

I know people that drive over 100K per YEAR. Yes, per year. It comes out to something like 6 hours of driving, every single day. They get a new (company) car each year

I bought my 2009 535i xdrive with 48k miles, it now has 68k miles and so far I got it a new battery, transmission and water pump under warranty... other than that, no other issues except for a few "engine malfunction reduced power" warnings. Water pump went out so the RR it, trani was fine other than slight vibrating in 3rd gear and since they didn't know what the problem was, they just replaced the trani, battery is a normal issue and the reduced power warnings came on while cruising and according to the dealership it was caused by a kinked vacuum hose. Other than that the car is great, currently running a JB4 stage 3 chip, AFE intake and dual Magnaflow exhaust. I've had a few issues with the chip but Terry from BMS quickly helped me resolve the.

Got a 07 530i with 79K, runs like a champ, except for already replaced the rotors, pads, microfilters, head gasket, valve cover gasket, water pump, thermostat, and next up... Wheel bearings.. But yeah other than that no problem, lol. Great car though seriously.

You are running just a head of me. I now have 192K and the only code is the P0492 for LH SAS which in my case is the carbon on the ports. This causes no other problems, its just a start-up item for first 30 seconds.

The coolant pipe and other work I did is doing great!

Make that 198K. Good to hear! Mine is as well. I need to change brake pads and control arm bushings next though. And maybe tie rod ends--there's a little slop somewhere and I'm not sure where it's coming from

Ahhhh! For the good ol' days before the "Green Party" got involved.

Since roughly 2002, all hell has broken loose on "biodegradable" seals causing huge carbon footprints under the guise of "Saving The Planet"!

Yes, you're 1998 seals will not "biodegrade" while the 2002 seals will.

However, you've never had to replace yours and the huge carbon footprint involved in doing so.

But! The "Green Party" rules the day in the Germany, and therefore, BMW, Porsche's, Audi's, Mercedes, will have horrendous reliability records in order to save the planet.

Wow.

It sounds like a BMW is more reliable than a Lexus or Honda.

Anybody actually believe that?

BMW's are designed for "performance" and not reliability.

Anybody try to tell you otherwise is playing with you.
