E30 (1982 - 1993)
God's Chariot. The E30 was produced primarily from 1982 through 1991. The cabriolet was the one exception which was produced through 1993.

If you have a lift, yes. Laying on the ground with the car on jack stands, not so much.

Ah the Jack stands, or bricks...
It is always an enlightening experience to be groveling aroubnd under your pride & joy (almost like marriage, except you can just walk away when you have enough) to suddenly find a heavy part (such as a CSB) crashing into your nether regions
But I would think that this procedure is still well within the home DIY category, as long as you think it through beforehand and take the neccesay safety precautions ahead of time

I did it to mine recently pretty easy
Except for I have long arms and did it jackstands so it was a bit cramped

http://www.pelicanparts.com/bmw/tech.../E36-Guibo.htm
Have a look at that link above as a guide
If you are putting in a new driveshaft that might be a bit tricky to get it balanced right etc
Take your time and do it slow

Interesting what nick said above makes me think I am not the only one who sees working on my car as some sort of ritual/ceremony and sometimes when under the car I just lie there thinking and looking around I hate working on my car fast because I don't feel it
