Replacing OEM Muffler. Suggestions?
I was not sure whether this would be better in the E36 forum or here, but here it goes.
I recently purchased an E36 328is. It is quiet and I would like to open it up a bit without breaking the bank. With a low budget requirement I have some to the conclusion that I am going to be building a custom exhaust (fitting a new muffler and tips). I was originally thinking of going with dual Magnaflow glasspacks (cherrybombs apparently are not quite as durable as the magnaflow version). I have seen several videos of this setup and to me it sounds very good. However, I am worried about the durability of this setup. Does anyone have experience that can comment? The next option is finding another aftermarket muffler and fitting that. Does anyone have any recommendations? I want something that is relatively loud but won't make my car miserable to drive. Note: I am not interested in buying an M3 muffler. Thanks! |
