I don't think the German flag thing is a good idea. If you want a German flag on it, stickers are the way to go.





and does anyone know where to get them bravian coat of arms that usually go trunk lid next to the plates? ive seen them on a few e36's

yeah thats kind of it i seen a few differnt ones just thought it was cool. nice little touch without over doing it thanks

do some more body work and primmed a few spots and trunk and did the whole roof now i have the spinning key problem stuff always seems to happen when im trying to make the car better..and heres a pic in the snow as well didnt do to bad either i was expecting worse

I like clears when they're matched with the darkness of the headlights (think, light smoke)

Had to buy a new master key for the E46. $200...ouch!

I have someone local that posted a "help me!" on Craigslist that their E46 key wouldn't work the remote lock/unlock because apparently the battery is dead. I responded and the guy came by. I can't figure out how to change the battery, either! Alternatively he checked into buying a replacement and BMW of Mobile quoted him $300!!!

It charges when it's in the ignition and the engine is running. The one I just replaced wouldn't hold a charge anymore and to get the housing open to try to replace just the battery you have to just about destroy it since it's bonded closed. I tried to recharge it by letting the car idle for about a hour but no joy. The car only gets driven short drives ( 4 miles to the wife's job) so I suspect the battery has been short cycled to death.

Love this project.

Need a and c pillars though... Color doesn't matter at all. And more plaid!!

so one day i took my key out of the ignition and the car was still running so me and my pops took it all apart to see if there was anything broken which there wasnt thank god only needed a good cleaning and lube and put it back together working like its brand new

Quite a task, but if you got it all together and working...guess it was worth it. I am impressed.

I had the same thing happen to me over a year ago. Fortunately, I didn't have to go through all the trouble you did, though. I simply removed the trim underneath the steering column, removed the switch from the backside of the ignition tumbler, and manually turned the tumbler back to the off position with a pair of pliers. Took me about 20 minutes, and it has been fine ever since (although nothing lasts forever...).

So, who can guess what this little repair job was for...........

advancing the flux capacitor, i see....

just don't forget to tighten the romwell nut 2 clicks to compensate for the gyro-sphere elipses. you don't want to know what happens when you fail to do that...
