A/C fix

I would like to fix the Air conditioner in my 328i BMW. How much will this cost? All it needs is a blendor.

Could you post the part number of the blendor? Not familiar with that component.

Might be an idea to take your car to a competent mechanic, see www.bimrs.org for an estimate?

I do not have the part number.

You may be referring to the "blend door". Don't know the cost but shouldn't be hard to find with the proper nomenclature.. ( check the sponsoring vendors on this site)

Ok. What is it? How do you know that is all you need to fix the AC?

The air conditioner works good without any problems accept that only the drivers side ad middle left vent are the only ones pushing out cold air sometimes. It only used to be the drivers side vent and the passenger vent. I told the mechanic about the situation and he did something that made the middle left vent and drivers side vent push cold air. The air condition turns on and off with no problem. The problem is getting cold air to come out of all vents when the Air condition is on cold.

I very much suspect all you need as a recharge with a can of refrigerant.

You have perfectly described the symptoms of an E46 with a 50%-full system.

Have you had it checked?

Are you capable of filling the system with a DIY kit ($20 at e.g. Autozone)

Still trying to work out what a blendor is?

If the blend door is within the dashboard, and needs replacing, I think you are talking many labor hours to remove and replace. Multiply by $80-$120 per hour to get a rough idea.

On the other hand a quick recharge kit might be all you need. At $20, could be worth exploring. Good luck.
