WTF happened?
Just checked my rear wheel and spring (driver side) and found this. How the heck can this happen? I wonder if any damages done to the sachs struts.
Does anybody have the part number(s) in handy? Will I need to take the whole sachs struts out to replace this? Will I need a spring compressor for the job? Thanks in advance. |

Do springs and struts have to be swapped out in pairs?

The car is still under warranty. The strut bump stop failed....this caused the rubber protection tube and the supporting pad to rupture. This actually concerned me because I'm not an aggressive driver.
It doesn't look like the strut and spring were damaged. So I just need to have the bump stop, tube and supporting pad replaced. |
