Finally replaced the leaky OFH gasket. Not too difficult just a little bit of time. Nice 70° day in November so it was comfy in the garage.

The wife curbed the front bumper pretty good yesterday so I think that Mtech upgrade is soon to come.

Just stuck the BMw in the garage last night. There is now a 3 foot snow drift in front of the door.

Hopped in the Range Rover and drove around to get stuff I needed in this nasty snow storm.

I'm still in "Shakedown Cruise" Mode, but after putting on 5K miles since I bought it......I can find nothing that needs urgent attention.

I have to get thru New Jersey Inspection in December which is mainly Emissions Check. The Near Term goal is to clear that hurdle without doing anything Major to fight the Battle of the HydroCarbons.

Beyond that, next Spring I'd like to replace the Rear Shocks and add the Sway Bar. Also thinking about a Window Tint.

Changed two ruptured hoses and expansion tank over the last 2 months. I've been putting too many miles on my baby lately. I need to buy a beater. I'm thinking a 2012 Civic.

Bought my 540i last month. Going through all the maintenance items since I don't have a complete history on it.

Just got done replacing the following:
- Air filter
- Diff fluid with Mobil 1 75w90
- Trans fluid with RP Synchromax
- Clutch/Brake fluid flush (DOT 4).
- Oil and filter (Mobil 1 0w40, Mann HU938/4X)

Flush of power steering deferred until I verify whether or not one of the hoses has a slow leak.

Coolant not replaced. The cooling system was replaced not more than a year ago based on the date code on the Behr radiator and the condition of the other parts - WP and thermostat housing.

Also, in the process of cleaning/conditioning the leather seats with Zaino Z-9/Z-10.

Today I replaced the Lower Oil Pan Gasket, the oil level sending unit gasket, and changed the oil with Mobil 1 0w-40 as well as the oil filter. I also replaced my drain plug with a magnetic drain plug.

I'll contribute since I've done a considerable amount of work over the last 4 months. In late summer I replaced Bilstien sports that had been on the car for at least 6 years with Koni Yellows and OEM sport springs. I will be re lowering in in the spring with H&Rs.

Last month the car started overheating and found out the Head Gasket was blown. Here's a list of what was done/replaced:

Head gasket
Head set
Exhaust manifold
I needed a set of head bolts
Thermostat
New upper intake boot (old one was torn)
Disa valve
Timing Chain guide (old one was broken)
VANOS line
VANOS seals
Set of water pipes under the intake (cracked and brittle)
Strut mounts
All belts
Valve cover gasket
Oil filter housing gasket
Temperature sensor O-ring
BG brake flush **Noticeable difference in brake feel! Definelty reccommend!!**

Not Including the suspension the work came up to $2200 from my BMW indy.

Car has 170,000 miles and has never run this good since I've owned it. I notice the engine sounds different on start up, anyone else experience this after changing the VANOS seals? I was without the car for a month but the she has LIFE again!
