OT. : My other passion

One of my favorite things to do in the summer is ride my bike. We had great weather today so we decided to meet one last time for the season. Wanted to share some pics with my fellow festers.

Nice pictures. I took my dirt bike out with my boys yesterday and rode some trails. Awesome weather!

I need to get a dirt bike myself...lots of nice trails around here. I'm thinking about selling my R6 since I don't go to the track as much anymore and picking up a dirt bike.

Awesome pictures! This was my favorite passion as well, but not now after having 2 kids!

Great pictures! I am too scared to get on a bike. I can't imagine the feeling of going fast on one.

I hear you. I dont ride as much as I used to with my current job...I cant imagine having any time at all to ride once I have kids

Can you say 0-60 MPH in under 3 seconds? The feeling is intoxicating. The feeling of acceleration you get cannot be replicated in any car thats street legal.

I always wanted a gsxr750( when that was the bike to get) Knowing that i would have killed myself always stopped me. I know myself to well. Thats why i always kept a sports car in the garage.

you definitely have to be careful with bikes...speed kills especially when there is no cage around you. My friend has a gsxr750... nice bike to ride. The gxsr 750 has the same chassis as the gsxr 600 so the bike handles great while having that extra power.

For a guy my size I had to go with a 1000cc bike which typically have a longer wheel base so essentially is a bigger bike. The longer wheel base does make it a little harder to handle though which is why I kept my 600 so I can zip around if I want.

My next bike though will be the BMW S100RR...it just makes sense since I already have the 7 in my garage.

Awww...C'mon 1bad540! Bikes and especially gixxers don't kill. But the speed as the OP said is intoxicating. I have had my 750 (bike) up to 135 mph! Man it was surreal. To be moving that fast and feel so in control.....but your right I have had quite a few friends get injured with bikes and a couple critical.

If youve never riden before I would say stick to the GSXR 600 or the 750. That 1000RR is a beast and for a new rider it would be very very very easy to get into trouble quickly

Unfortunately I have had some friends that were critically injured as well. Ive had my bike up to about 180 MPH. At those speeds you are just tucked in...the road is coming at you so fast it almost makes you dizzy. That was in my younger days, now the max I would go is 145 MPH .

My bikes are not street bikes so a totally different experience. Here are some pics with my kids this weekend. Also one with a razor ATV.

+1 DFEL750I, in the last 3 years I have ridden my gixxer maybe 6 times! I don't know if it is a combination of the desire just waning or that the guys I use to ride with all got old, had kids or doing something stupid (like ghost wheelies on the highway) and got hurt to the point where they stop riding. Hell the GSXR750 has 6800 miles on it and it is an 2001. Bought it new and I will list it as such if I decide to sell. But everytime I think of getting rid of her I get out on her one last time and just like an old girlfriend....I can't let go
