Rear Wiper Arm Removal - Glass Scratch Removal

Hi Guys-

I had a little mishap with the garage door and the only damage is a some scrapes to the rear wiper arm cover (the plastic piece) and some scratches to the glass. Very minor. Please help on the following:

1) Local dealer had the wiper arm cover in stock and per parts guy easy removal; however not for me. I removed "cover" protecting the nut, took off the nut and cannot for the life of me get the wiper arm off the post. I tried WD40, pulling, pushing, wiggling (per post on the internet) and this thing will not budge....... am I an idiot (of course, see first paragraph) that I cannot remove it? If youknow how, please school me.

2) How does one remove scratches on glass? I tried some rubbing compound and some headlight repair kit. Autopart store didn't have anything. Do I do see a professional windlow glass repiar shop?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Michael

Thanks. already did that. I am looking for some that has more specific information before I buy a product that does not work or I use incorrectly.

Anyone else have experience with these 2 issues? Thank you.

wiper arm

Why were you ever able to figure out how to remove the old wiper from the bolt?

I did the same thing with my 2013 X5. Pulled out of the garage with the trunk lid fully open. Luckily the garage door and garage door opener lost the tug of war and not the X5.

I had similar damage to the wiper arm and cover. Cover was easy to replace. I bought the new wiper arm and couldn't take the old one off either. I think you need a pulley remover type of tool that hooks around the arm while pushing down on the bolt.
