6 Series
The BMW 6 Series builds on BMW's sporty heritage with aggressive lines and an incredible motor to back the design up. Available in coupe and convertible trims with a standard 4.8 liter engine producing 360 horsepower and 360 lb-ft of torque, the 6-series is a popular choice that exceeds expectations. |

I like
Dodo Juice Purple Haze. But you have to give the car a good machine polish prior to applying the wax. I use Meguair #80 Speed Glaze on a Dual Action Polisher. The every second wash I top up the protection with Dodo Juice Red Mist. I think that this gives a great shine, the real shine actually comes from the polishing stage, with the machine. You could also use Dodo Juice Lime Prime for polish but I think the Meguairs works really well. As for black plastics there really is only one answer, that is GTechniq C4, permanent trim restorer. It is ridiculously expensive but it is the best trim revived/projector out there. If you want something that last a few weeks then I use Autoglym Tyre Dressing. It lasts for a while & temporarily returns the black finish to trim. There my tips anyway! |

Like rebel.ranter said, you must start off with properly polished paint if you want a deep shine. Polishing out scratches is an art and requires about $400 worth of equipment if you decide to attempt it yourself. I would highly recommend letting a pro prep the paint. Then from that point on apply a sealant or wax yourself regularly to protect the paint.
I use Menzerna Power Finish as a polish (once a year in the spring) then Menzerna Powerlock as my sealant - it last 3 months in the summer and about 5-6 months during the winter. I like the Menzerna because it lasts much longer than wax and has a great glossy finish. A couple of other popular waxes for black paint that you should look into: Klasse All-In-One or Klasse Twins, Pinnacle Souveran wax (paste or liquid) one of the best waxes available, Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant. Also check out this thread, starting at post #33. The guy in that thread used to be a detailer and gives some excellent advice.

Hi I used a Sonus black wax on my car, it is coloured black so protect your hands, but it leaves a brilliant Gloss, very easy to use with repeat operations every couple of months, I then use quick detailer during the intervening periods!!! Sonus is also used by Mercedes Mcclaren, But as Yorgi said with black you need to have a good base to start with, so clay bar with Menzerna and a detailing machine will give that base then it is a matter of upkeep!!
I also have used a carnuba wax (do it correctlyand it is very easy to apply and builds a depth of gloss) but it is affected by really hot climates.....

Any where you guys can recommend for me to go in the NYC area to get a deep and detailed detail gob to get the scratches out my black 6 series? I been wanting to get a good detail to bring back the smoothness and shine just don't know any reputable places.
Yorgi would you be up for the job or know anywhere also? |

![]() I have a full time job and kids, I wish I had the time to go jetting around the States detailing cars! You might convince me to come down if you rent a track and host a DE. Say at Watkins Glen.

How much should a good detail cost? Interior with toothbrushes and Q-tips, exterior clay barred.
