E30 (1982 - 1993)
God's Chariot. The E30 was produced primarily from 1982 through 1991. The cabriolet was the one exception which was produced through 1993. |

Not fast but useful
Your thoughts on my new M10 coffee table? The one on the engine stand in the avatar.
No pistons or rods but it has crank cam and chain. Glass top and castors. Useable work in progress.

you left rusted pulleys and everything. an M10 table could be OK .. if it had some polished ITB's.

I don't think the rusty pulleys "and everything" (whatever that means) are staying that way. Notice it's still on the engine stand, still being worked on.

That's pretty awsome, I think the engine is rather clean, maybe wire wheel the rust

Thanks all, comments noted. The exhaust manifold is to be sand blasted and painted 'cast iron'. The pulleys will be satin black and clean in the belt groves. But it does hold up 6 (yes 6) coffee mugs.

The car in the b/g is my daughter's Mustang. I live above my hobby workshop (no house for me) and have a MASSIVE fridge that has an auto ice maker and water chiller. The table will move upstairs when finished. Us aut - sorry - artistic types were trying for the 'that looks like it might start' look - not just the bare block. The fan clutch will replace the next failure - seemed like a useful place to store new stock.

Killer idea and I dig the execution
Icing on the cake would be an electric motor to drive the fan, so that you can use it as a regular house fan when

Love the block WITH pistons table. The idea of spinning the fan is a hoot. I have seen blocks on their end with a slot machined out and a car radio installed. Maybe for the corner of the workshop? What do you think Nick323?

I am not that much of an artistic person.
Since I also live on top of my workshop/dyno etc. I kinda want to forget my environment when I stagger upstairs- not from the fridge's content but from the workload I LOVE the coice of beverage on top of that 12-pot
