Odd lock down on my car please help!

Ok, so I bought a 1995 525i about 5 months ago. The car has an odd lock setup. The front door and the trunk have key A. The passenger door and the engine have key B. I guess the previous owner switched out the locks for whatever reason.
Because of this setup the car will never start, and windows won't work UNLESS I unlock the pessenger door first. I got used to the routine and it worked fine.
Today I went to my car, unlocked my door, and the passenger door, but it wont start. Its locked down as if I hadn't unlocked the passenger door.
I know this sounds odd but any advice? Will unplugging battery do something? Is there any way to reset lock mechanism?

This is another problem with the EWS. Hopefully someone with more knowledge will chime in...

+ 1. Good call paperplan.

OP you'll probably have to change all the locks one way or the other, even if the EWS system is deleted, if you want to start using only one key instead of 2 all the time.

Do both keys fit all locks? Which fits the ignition lock (that will probably be the original)? To synchronize the locks just unlock everything (boot as well) with the battery terminal off. Reconnect battery and relock with key. They should now all work together. The driver's door lock is the master. If that is locked I don't think the car will start. Possibly some PO has played with some wires when the 'fixed' the lock.
