I have the 4 nuts removed and the wire harness unplugged but the assembly cannot be removed from vehicle. Any help appreciated.

Once you have the retaining nuts removed, they push straight out. Just put some shoulder into it.

That was true with my 325i....they had not been removed since(???)...and I was afraid to break something....checked evertthing real clse and got a little more aggressive. It worked.

Also sometimes the studs are rubbing against the metal very firmly and the metal snags on the threads, try tugging on any studs making contact with the metal.
