i am open to any suggestion that will get BMW to listen.
This very issue was reported in the F10 forum and BMW supplied a fix.
If they can fix it on the F10 why not the F07???

interesting that with cooler weather not as bad on the reving, not sure why but feel like a call to dealer is a waste of my time.
i made a dvd of the car violently reving and gave it to the dealership; would be happy to participate in any mass mail to BMW.

Adding Rattle to the Reving--now to BMW corporate

Adding a rattle to my woes of reving.
Have had it for several months but kept getting worse.
This rattle is coming from the rear, at low speed before the car downshifts. So 'lugging' a gear will make it happen.
Replicated the rattle for service tech; shop kept the car 24 hrs and it rattled on the way home.
Took it back today and the shop foreman got in the car, listened for 20 seconds, did not replicate the problem but he began to rant about not being able to fix the problem. Will have to involve BMW.....GREAT will make sure the idle reving that still exists makes the list as well.

Gotta say, little pissed at BMW at this point. Not happy that a car of this price and quality is delivering these problems.
Still not happy with low speed surge; will make sure I throw that in as well.

Time will tell, will keep you up to date on BMW rep visit.

Update on factory rep visit

Rep rode in the car and heard rattle, got out kicked the muffler with me and shop foreman in car. We could hear the rattle. He got back in and said replace muffler, if it requires ordering both, replace both with hangers, NUFF said, kinda like him.
Did get in a sideways glance at Mr Rude shop foreman...

Did not have good news on the idle surge--reving.
Basically said I was at the mercy of the software guys in Germany...oh well.
Sad to say BMW will not fix what I consider a safety issue.
Will gladly help anyone that can assist with getting the attention of the correct people.

Thanks for the report, sorry to hear they wont do anything about the surging idle. Ours does the same after its been driven and you restart. My first service will be in Feb, does not sound like they will come up with a fix by then.

Unhappy Good to hear there is another owner with same issue

This issue now has at least 3-4 owners with same issue.
I pointed this out to the Factory Rep but did not help much.
Every time I go in i will askd for update list and see if Idle surge is on the list.
i have also sent mail to local dealer with issue and the fact that this is a SAFETY issue.
Very, very sad that BMW is ignoring customers and safety issues.
I am a 1st time BMW owner, may very well be my last.

On another note...muffler on order will let all know if that stops the ratttle. Again, took 4 trips to get that done!!!!!

If anyone's surging problem is bad enough to actually create a safety hazard, then report it to the feds. They'll look into it, and if valid, potentially force a recall. https://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/ivoq/

Mine seems more of an occasional annoyance, but mine may not be as bad as yours or happen as often.

Keep in mind they addressed in the F10, maybe we are not big enough??
I am currenly located in HK, a 4-6 month assignment.
Will gladly participated when I return stateside..unless you guys want to proceed without me.

I was about to call for a oil change. I'll tell them of my surging issue. I'll be using the same dealer for service that Skime219 did.
