Looks like I'll be leaving school with 50-60k in loans. Not too bad for a private school, I guess

I worked my way through school, paid loans while I was taking em. Ended up with about $20k. I'm down to about 1/2 that now after 4 years.
What are you going for?

Jesus christ dude, what are you planning to major in? Unless you're doing something only available at that school or are studying a field where you expect to end up with a baller salary before you're $25k, I would strongly consider transferring to a public school or community college. It takes a long time to crawl out of a $60k hole.

I was incredibly fortunate to have money saved for school. I think I had something like $40-45k, but the market crash in '08 took about 25% of it. I did 3 semesters in community college and worked 20 hour weeks to pay for the tuition and books out of pocket, then I transferred to a state school and spent about $15k each year for tuition, books, and housing.

I graduated pretty much flat broke, but miraculously debt free. I started my job two weeks after graduation, its been about a year and a half and I'm STILL POOR. If I had a loan payment hanging over my head I couldn't have taken this job. Or I'd have 4 more roommates...

Just something to think about while you still have control over the situation.

I'm studying Mechanical Engineering Technology. Average $50k/year right out of school.

My parents are paying 13-15k/year out of savings. The rest is scholarship. Just working for fun money right now. RIT is awesome in the fact that they basically give you four semester-long, full-time, paid internships at reputable companies. And they pay WELL. That'll help take down loans once I get there. So essentially it takes 5 years to get a BS, but you've got real experience and extra money (and you're only paying tuition for 4 years).

Housing in the dorms is around 9k including food. You can get a share of a good apartment on campus for around 400/month. I'll be doing that next year

I only had to pay R&B for 2 years. Other 2 years I was an RA and had that paid for plus a small stipend (like $200 a month).

Damn chad. For that kind of money I could have lived like a king in college. I split a 4 bed, 2 bath apartment and my share was $310. Had to go cheap because out-of-state tuition sucks.

MET is perfect for someone who drops trannies for fun. Perfect fit cj

I wish I could live this cheap now.

but I like the finer things in live now. Like, my own space, and house... My house has 4 bathrooms in it. 2 hardly ever get used but its mine...

but, I'm at a different place in life.

If things changed with my and my girlfriend i would move out in an instant no hesitations. I am the only college student i know supporting myself with zero loans and not living at home able to save money have a MEH car and and job. with a pretty good credit score and total net worth of like 1000$ which really isnt that bad because its 0% till next year.

Good job dude! That takes a lot of effort to support your self and go through school.
I lived with my girlfriend (now wife) right outta school. Don't think either of could have afforded the $900 rent on our own. Things were tighter than than the space between a fat kids fingers getting at cake.

ohhh and I'm not calculating my net worth. Pretty sure I owe more in life than I am worth... though I do have life insurance....

BTW.. Since mainstream media isn't doing their job, I will... Palestine (Gaza) is under attack, majority of the casualties being young children! You would have to have the heart of a dog, or even less, to kill millions of innocent lives like that. Anyway, before I start raising many red flags up in heree, just thought i'd share to get the word out.. Sickens me to the stomach how not a damn word is being mentioned on the news about this.

Yeah, it was a sweet setup. 3br/3ba 1700 sqft 3 story split level
townhouse with an attached oversize 2 car garage. Totally upgraded, stainless steel appliances, granite and butcher block counters, plantation shutters, the works.

Parked a supercharged Jaguar and sport bike next to my roommates sharp S4. Lived 5 miles from some of the most beautiful beaches in California.

I felt like a motherf*cking king ..............which made it very tough to move from there into a 1br/1ba 600Sqft condo with one carport when I got married. Talk about a reality check!

+1, Franklyn is damn impressive.

And I don't want to calculate mine either. Luckily don't have much debt so I think it's narrowly positive, but just by a hair.
