645ci Trailer Hitch

Greetings from Afghanistan, I know what your thinking but I need to ask...Does anyone have a trailer hitch installed on there 645? I have been looking for a picture but can't seem to find one. I want to know if the hitch can be installed..used..then removed? I read that it's a 20 minute install.

I understand that a 645 is not meant to be used with a hitch or that I must be insane to install one on such a nice car but I'm checking out my options. Thanks in advance

Thanks, I've seen the installation manual on one and it seems so simple and easy to install. No cutting or modification needed.

Don't worry about opinions, if you need one then do it. I have never seen anyone who has a picture posted, there is a guy that custom built one for his 2007 model since the Hitchsource one above only is guaranteed to work on the 645. However he did not post pic's in the previous hitch thread.

You will have to use your imagination, it is real simple and you can tell by the picture that the receiver portion of the hitch will extend underneath your rear bumper. It will be the only visible part, the little square portion with the safety chain loop.

It's been done. There's a post probably 2-3 years back somewhere on this board. Do a search.

Yes, I recall it being done so I searched prior to posting this thread but found nothing. I beleive the fella wanted to tow his canoe or skis or bike ..pretty much something light. Ok guys if I squeeze the trigger on this I will keep you posted. Thank you for your input.

That hitch would be enough to tow a nice jet ski, or small bike. I have thought about doing the same thing but never looked it up. I would love to know how it turns out when and if you do it. By the pictures it looks like there might be some clearance issues with the bumper, but that could be just the picture. Where are you at in Afghanistan? I did 2 tours in Helmand and Garmser

You may be thinking of AlpineNWS who put a surfboard rack on top.

I'll do a bit of searching and see what I can find.
