Looking at buying a 04-07 530, 528 or 525?????
Guys, Im looking at buying a 04-07 530, 528 or 525 & was wondering what issues, if any, that I should be looking for? Are there any major issues with these cars? Im looking at vehicles nearing the 100k mark and just thought that I would ask first. Thanks ahead for any & all help.

I have a 2006 525xi with 84,000 miles. I'm the original owner. I've had the following problems:
With only 58,000 miles: 1. Alternator belt (stranding me and requiring a tow). 2. Valve cover gasket causing engine oil leak. 3. Crank shaft seal. Other items: Sometimes the 4X4 symbol comes on telling me that the xDrive isn't working, but it always goes away the same day. I think it happens when the car sits, something electrical maybe. Last night my trunk wouldn't close. The problem is electrical. I got some help here and posted my experience: http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=646789 It sounds worse than it all is. I still love the car and plan to keep it a long time. I'll bet you can get a good deal in light of the age and remodeling in 2011. What are you thinking of paying? I figure mine is worth in the 14K range, but if you're looking at 100K miles likely it will be cheaper. John
