2001 325xi 187000, clean, talked em down to 4800. Yay or Nay

first u need to ask urself this question: do I need an Xi?
if so, then have a thorough checking of the vehicle, it's been down the road a lot. get the maintenance records and read the wiki for the possible maintenance and preventive maintenance.
if u can talk them down a lil further would be better for a car with that age and mileage.

If its a manual then maybe. If its and auto then I would bet a very important part of my body that the tranny will grenade in another 20k.

I would recommend staying 2002 or newer - facelift, manual, 330.

i need an xi i live in CT and lets just leave it at the rwd didnt make the cut in storm we just had. imho after driving the xi the feel was much better then the 325i i just had with only 110xxx on the clock. and logic tells me for the car to feel that tight and responsive still with that kind of mileage being had only one owner and a dealer trade as well i think it may be a hidden gem. gonna throw it on a lift and have a thorough look at the sub frame and boots etc etc. either way these cars run forever when maintained within service able limits. no?

Take it to a mechanic, have him check it out mechanically. Special attention on the sub-frame. Plan to put $2k after you get it in filters, fluids, coolant refresh, spark plugs, etc.

This. Subframe check for sure but at that mileage it probably would've happened already.
