The 46 gets a nice SC kit for X mas. Also learned today that I will be going to Berlin for 8 weeks on internship my dream has been to drive the ring in the 330 and I won't be able to afford to have it shipped.

Anybody attend the F1 race last weekend here in Austin? I went to Friday's practice session (got a ticket from a very nice guy on the Porsche 968 forum who was getting into town too late to make it to the practice session). I've never been a rabid F1 fan - the series has just been too uncompetetive for the last several years - make that decades - but seeing the cars in person was A BLAST. Amazingly fast, and they make the most incredible sounds. I definitely plan on going back next year, for all three days this time.

98 fuel is 0,79e/liter here in Yekaterinburg, but traffic is so wild that car probably wouldn't stay smooth and shiny for long.
And if having e46 here wouldn need new suspension parts every month, many people have smoother backyards than these streets.

Bimmerfest member Gryphon passed along to me a set of winter mats for his Xi which he no longer has. I just wanted to say Thanks again. The people on this forum are Salt Of The Earth. You all make owning a maintenance hungry car a pleasure.

It looks like I'm heading to Indian Wells, CA Saturday the 16th of March until Tuesday, the 19th for work. Here's the problem: The fight card for the PPV event looks STACKED! I need a place to watch the fights (sports bar, etc) and POSSIBLY a ride to and from the hotel, depending on how far away it is...

Check it out... I can see my car from space. It's the small rectangular white spot at the bottom of the parking area.

I helped a friend (start to) change out his water pump on his 6.6L GM Duramax diesel. All I have to say is BE THANKFUL that our e46 water pumps are so easy to change by comparison. The water pump on the Duramax isn't belt-driven, and it's buried low on the block within a separate housing that's got hoses, separator pipes, etc. attached to it. You have to lock the flywheel and remove the freaking harmonic balancer to get access to the water pump. Add to that the fact that the cheapest you can find the OE water pump is like $220. We had to take a break to order some tools and more parts, and we'll have to finish it up next weekend (the truck isn't his daily driver).

Point being -- I'll take the $70 water pump you can swap out in half an hour any day over that nightmare. Hopefully we'll get it wrapped up next weekend.
