How rare is Alpine White?

Im in CA and looking to purchase an 08 528i/535i and I rarely come across Alpine Whites. There are plenty of blacks and silvers but I want white. I've been looking for a few months now and I've only come across a few that fit my specifications. Just wondering if it really is more of a rare color or bad luck on my part

What part in cali are you? I was able to find a AW 535i fairly easy in the bay area. However i agree that there a lot more silver and blacks available.

Im in the bay area as well----looking for one with around 50k miles or less and navi---prefer to buy privately for negotiations sake but im not having much luck

Not very rare, IMO. When I went and bought mine almost two years ago there were two on the lot. They appear to be less common than some other colors but I would definately not call them rare.

Same here in Houston. It's harder to find white than any other colors. And the prices do reflect that.

I am amazed at all the black ones - dunno why - I wouldn't take a black car unless it was free... just got back from the dealership- black M5, black 650xi coupe, black 3 series x 2 in the showroom - and then they brought my car back... I really don't like black ... (mine is AW)

Black, white, and silver are extremely easy to find in my experience.

2009 535i just hit 29k, alpine white, premium,sport package, sport auto transmission with paddle shifters, comfort access, navigation, heated seats. Still under factory warranty til 6/1/13. Then 2 years CPO. Make an offer. Beige leather. Cheers.

Thanks. The best thing is to shop around and be flexible on how far you are willing to drive. The one thing that is rare out here is a AW with a black interior. My beige interior is nice but black would really nice.

There are quite the # for same in SoCal

IMO it seems to go.

Silver/Black > White/Grey > Blue/other > Wierd stuff.

I think since many model years did not have a surcharge for metallic colors you don't find as many white ones - which is typically a standard color for BMW

ohh trust me ive been autotrader daily lol----2nd one is sold and 1st one the guy is asking $5k+ over the kbb and saying firm, i really wish people would be realistic when selling their cars sometimes lol

To be honest with you, I believe the price on the first car is quite fair. I've attached a link showing 7 white 528's. If you check the mileage of the ones with around 30K, they are all listed around $26,000 and up. The car in the 1st ad I sent you has custom rims, so I don't blame the seller on trying to recoup some of that money back. The KBB you saw was probably the wholesale price the insurance would pay out if the car was totalled, not the average resale price. Any 528 you think you can pick up for $22,000 is sure to have way higher mileage or a poor history report.
