E39 Please assist

replaced break pads and this mesage displays '' chck breakliness'' 2. two headlights -inner ones can't go off,had to disconect them, thirdly my odometer not working. how best can i have this fixed

Not sure about the check brakelines - are you sure it's not brake lights?
If all your rear lights are working, pull the bulbs out individually and check to see if any of them have any discoloration or if any have the gold-colored base. BMWs like the silver colored bulb bases. The difference in resistance is enough to trick the lamp module into thinking a bulb is out.

headlights - sounds like the daytime running lights are enabled. That's a trip the dealer to reset your preferences.

1. Did you replace the brake wear sensor? You might not put them back in right. You can NOT re-use them once they stripped.

2. That's your DRL when your engine is running. You need to code the LCM to turn them off. If they are on even without the key in the ignition, you might have problem with the LCM

3. Speedometer is fine? How about cruise control? Any other light on the cluster?

thank you so much for your response. yes the message is check brealiness. as for the lights i checked and saw one was not working and fixed it. headlights -i will have bmw dealer check for me. thanks once again. i appreciate
