Oil Leak

Hi everyone,

I need your advice/help. I have an oil leak, it is on the driver side. I cant get a clear look at were it is coming from, but I can see that oil is leaking down the header above the serial number. Oil is all over the bottom of the front, Im guessing its getting blown around. I have checked my oil and the seems to be NO water mixed in, its not milky nor cloudy, I had my VCG changed about 2 years ago, so I dont think that is it.

What is your guys thoughts??/

Look at the oil filter housing... it's got a gasket that is known to fail.

Thanks guys, that looks like that could be it. Im going to have it looked at tormorrow to make sure thats the problem. Then I will be doing the DIY.

I just had the same issue with my 330ci, it was the oil filter housing gasket, it cost me 430 to repair at mechanic.

Def the oil filter housing gasket, just had to repair mine, it cost me 430 at mechanic. At dealership quote is 450.

If you have basic mechanical knowledge you can DIY and save $400. I did it myself with help of DIY instructions. Take your time and it can be done.

Thanks to everyone for your help, it was the OFH gasket. I didnt have time to do the DIY but I did get it done for $225 and Im happy with it. Thanks again to everyone for your help!!
