Look over this thread for the toolkit question:
http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=460741 For the other question, go to RealOEM.com and look it up for your model. Last edited by Blacklane; 11-18-2012 at 02:44 PM. |

Pardon my tech. ignorance, but how you able to key in a particular thread directing someone to it and post it on your thread...like the above example on your thread?

In this case, I remembered a recent post with a picture. I went to the "Search this Forum" button, entered "Tool Kit" and quickly found the thread I wanted and opened it.
With that thread open, the URL with the thread number appears in the URL window at the top of the browser, but it includes the words "&highlight=tool+kit" or whatever the search term was. I delete that part, and I'm left with a URL in the browser window which will be the URL for bimmerfest forums Z series and will end in the thread number (t=460741). I highlight that complete URL in the bowser window and copy it. Then I go back to the thread I want to reply to, submit a reply, and paste-in the URL. The forum tool converts the URL to a link. It is much harder to explain than to do. Last edited by Blacklane; 11-19-2012 at 04:20 AM. Reason: Typo correction |

By the way, the missing tool is almost always the wheel lock key for the anti-theft lug bolts that weren't purchased when new.

Tool kit/front grille
I did see the photo of the tool kit but wasn't sure if the M kit would be the same -no spare tire!-It looks like I'm missing only the tow hook!
As for the grille my local dealer couldn't seem to find the listing thats why I was hoping for a photo to encourage their parts person to look a little deeper-only 1 dealer in NS Thanks again for your help Wayne |

Are you saying no spare tire for the M? I so no reason why they would not have the same tool kit and spare tire that my 1.9L has.

Because with the dual exhaust, there is no room under the car for the spare.

For the grill, I would go here. This guy makes his own stuff at great prices.

Some thoughts and tips on the grill, fresh in my mind, having just fit one to this 01///M.
I cut some very short sections of rubber vacuum tubing to fit under the push-nuts that secure the grill to the bumper; this will allow a small measure of "give" in the grill and anyone in the future that wants to cut off the push-nuts will have a much easier time of it (it's VERY easy to damage the fragile posts molded into the bumper, and then you'd be left with a kluge to secure the grill, say after a repaint). ![]() ![]() An inside shot: ![]() ![]()
