Removing kick panel

Hey guys, I bought all new trim at the dealer to replace the horrible looking peeling scratched mess that plauges these cars.. Anyway, I got the front pass side done, but I am wondering if anyone has removed the kick panel on the drivers side.. where the hood release and OBD connector is.. Do I need to remove the dead pedal or anything else first? The pass side I had to remove the top plastic piece under the glove box to get the new one back in.

For anyone who wants to do this, the dead pedal is held on by strong velcro, so that needs to be pulled out. The top panel above the pedals comes out with 4 screws, then the hood release lever comes out with one screw, and a screw under it, then simply pull out the kick panel. Install is in reverse order, making sure to put on the two plastic clips.

Thanks for this info. When I was running my aux cable thru I look at taking those panels off but seemed too complicated.

I would have too but I have a fairly big discount at the dealer so I paid $50 per kick and $16 for the long skinny ones.

What kind of paint do you use to match the color? I've seen people talk about painting them, but I've never been able to find any specifics.
