Passenger seat stuck in rear position
Have visited forum many time to help in repair issues. I have encountered a problem that I have not seen posted before - 2001 e39. The passenger seat was moved rearward and will now not move forward. I can remove the seat because it is stuck in the rear position with the seat over the bolt. I have determined that the switch module works -checked continuity. So I believe that something is either jamming the rail or the motor is no longer working. I think I would be able to diagnose the problem if I could get the seat out. Any ideas?

I assume you've checked the connectors behind the finisher where the switches are mounted, and those under the seat.
Do any other seat functions work?

All the other seat functions work with there switches. What little wiring I can see under the seat seems to be in order. The one connector to the drive motor near the door is in place.
