6 Series
The BMW 6 Series builds on BMW's sporty heritage with aggressive lines and an incredible motor to back the design up. Available in coupe and convertible trims with a standard 4.8 liter engine producing 360 horsepower and 360 lb-ft of torque, the 6-series is a popular choice that exceeds expectations.

I say buy it, having a newer car is refreshing.

However, the reality is this...your current car is worth, what, $25,000? On a trade probably $18,000.

You are looking at buying a car that is $40k to $45k. That is a spread of of $15,000 to $27,000 depending on whether you sell the car yourself and which model you go with.

You can buy a lot of repairs for $20k or so. Only if it isn't crapping out all the time, once it becomes a frequent trip, regardless of price, the inconvenience of repeated downtime outweighs the cost differential, at least in my mind.

I have considered the same option as my car just came out of CPO warranty. I am trying to hold out for when the 2012 gets into the $40-$45k range. Only problem is they are still $65k at the lowest on cars.com right now. Six months ago they were up close to $80k, so they are dropping rapidly (as expected). The 2010 at least has the updated CIC harddrive based Idrive, I guess if I was desperate I would get that... nah, just too much of the same for me.

Do 09' !! Have the great ceramic control. It's the reason why I get the 09 instead of 08. If you like comfortable and technology looking go for 09'
