Cowboys... The Division is YOURS to lose! 3 straight @ Home games against under .500 teams! The overrated Giants have been exposed. Let Romo lose and stop being so damn conservative with play calling Garrett or else Sean Payton or John Gruden or Mike Holmgren will have your job next year...

Now then... What a defensive display in crappy weather away from home the Texans gave! If no injury occurs, I pick them in the AFC.

If the Giants are over-rated, what does that say about the Niners? Got creamed by NY and then fought to a tie with the Rams at home.

Correct, now its the Cowboys and Eagles. . Oh I forgot, the Cowboys just won a game so they are back to being Super Bowl shoo-ins.

By that rationale, Cincy may be Super Bowl bound. However the reflexive property does not hold for football (college or pro). Nobody brings their "A" game every week. The 49ers may struggle if Smith is out for a while.

PS- Has Andy Reid been fired yet?

Refs gave that game to the Cowboys. That cowboy catch that wasnt reviewed, football move after the catch , strip, recovery by Browns. But when you suck as bad as the Browns, you get the bad no-calls too...

Browns lost that game several times. Bad call, yes, but Browns could've won that game a few times. Cowboys doing what is required to stay in the hunt. You have to beat 2 and 6 teams at home. If you can't do that, you might as well shoot yourself. Just surprised how hard it was for Cowboys to beat them. Browns must be really good.

Jeez, poor Alex Smith can't catch a break. Career finally taking off and it turns out that the second string qb is waiting for his chance to get in and make a splash.

Quote:
Subbing for Smith, who sustained a concussion Nov. 11 and was officially ruled out by the team Sunday night, Kaepernick completed 16 of 23 passes for 243 yards and two touchdowns in his first NFL start. A second-round pick in the 2011 draft, Kaepernick, who posted a 133.1 rating, left no doubt he's ready to be an NFL starter. The question: Will he start Sunday in New Orleans?

Posed that postgame query, head coach Jim Harbaugh left the door wide open for Kaepernick to wrest the starting spot from Smith, who had a 20-5-1 record in San Francisco's previous 26 regular-season games. Harbaugh said he didn't have a policy in which an injured player can't lose his starting spot because of an injury.

"We'll see," Harbaugh said when asked if Kaepernick would remain the starting quarterback. "We usually tend to go with the guy that's got the hot hand and we've got two quarterbacks that have the hot hand."

The statement speaks to Kaepernick's brilliance Monday. Smith, after all, leads the NFL in completion percentage (70.0), ranks third in passer rating (104.1) and has completed 26 of his past 28 passes.

In other words, he's been pretty good.

Detroit was robbed

One announcer, after the game, referred to it as the most severe punitive penalty in the history of the NFL. I forget what they called the penalty, but of course it was the one for throwing the red flag to contest a touchdown. Since review is done automatically, they slapped him on the wrist with no review (of a play that would have been called back) and a 15 yard penalty on the kickoff.

Strange game.

^ That was a rough game all right. Jeez, middle of the second quarter and you're just hoping no one gets injured in this stinker.

Looks like the Alex Smith era has officially ended.

Jeez man, it's almost painful to watch. Dude was on the sideline with helmet on, all 'put me in coach!' And this after the Niners openly looked to replace him with Manning. I suspect the Niners were in a tough spot. They don't want Kaepernick to get lured away for lack of playing time and you know teams are going to want him after that Chicago game. Smith is competent but looks lik Kap has more potential.

Feel bad for Smith, but this kid they're using at QB is the real deal. You can see how the other players rally around him.

He does look like he has a future. They're always looking for the next Montana - wouldn't want to jinx him by saying that too loud but it wasn't looking like Smith was going to be that guy. I suspect he could pull down bank elsewhere if it comes to that.
