Ever tried to put the key fob in the ash tray?

Wink Fix jammed ashtray

Btw, you can unjam the lid by first removing the top of the lid by pressing down and sliding the lid towards the driver. The top will come off revealing 3 holes. Insert a small screwdriver or paper clip and shift the offending coin so it no longer binds the folding mechanism for the lid.
You will probably need a flashlight to see through the hole.
Fussy work but can be cleared in a couple minutes. Much easier than taking to the dealer.

Note to self... Don't do this again!

Is the optional coin holder larger than the ashtray?

I just realized that I didn't close the loop on this. It arrived and fits just fine on my 2012

Same size including depth. I bought it since I needed a spot to stash my garage door fob (the type that can't be cloned) and it fit perfectly.

I took the ashtray out and put my key in there! Anyone got their keys stuck?

I would recommend buying from your local dealer and not the place mentioned above. I bought from there and even confirmed that I was ordering the right part number with them and when I received it, it didn't fit. And when I tried to return it they gave me a bunch of attitude and said it was my fault. They finally took it back when I threatened to reverse the charge on my card, but it was not a pleasant experience. The cargo net that I ordered that was listed on their website to fit my car also doesn't really fit well either so I'm sure that's the wrong part, but it's ok.

Wow---just reading the thread and amazed at how hard some folks are making this. The ash tray comes out pretty easy. I've had coins get stuck a couple times since 12/2011. Or needs to have smaller fingers. Or ensure you don't overfill, which was the lesson I learned.

Ok, so after 5 months of being stuck, I had had enough! Could not clear the jam no matter what I tried. Finally removed the center console wood trim (remove a torx head screw under the key trim) and it unclips and lifts right up. Using a #20 torx head, unscrewed 4 screws that hold the ashtray in place. Move it around a bit, shake it up, and the offending coins came loose. Ashtray now opens. Screw everything back together and it works great. Total time 15 minutes. Hope this helps!

Didn't need to do all that.

Get someone with slender fingers to grab both ends, with one hand and it comes out pretty easily. I had to take it out at least 2-3times probably once per year.
