My m3 clone, Yes thats an E46 M3 Front bumper..Early 2000's Mpower 17" rims, Euro Tailights, M3 Side skirts, work in progress..

what exactly makes it an m3-clone and what are these Mpower rims you speak of?

Because of the Frankenstein E36/E46 body kit mashup and non-period wheels, it's not a clone. To be a clone you have to produce an identical duplicate of something. But anyway, to each their own.

When my car was first passed on to me I claimed my car was an M3 clone cause I have the M bumper

My SISTER was like yeah a fake ass M3

But now I know better

Yeah, to be an M3 clone, you'd need both bumpers, side skirts, wheels, mirrors, side trim, badges, seats, steering wheel, instrument cluster, engine/trans/diff, exhaust, door sills, suspension, brakes, etc... Anything less is just an E36 with a few ///M parts on it, but certainly not a clone.

Nice opinion ZeGerman but it is a clone in the making , if someone told me in person it was just an e36 I would have to laugh in there face ..

A e46 front bumper doesn't make it an m3 clone.. In fact, you're right, it's not just an e36, but rather the victim of poor-fitting aftermarket parts.

Yeah, I was going to say... It is by definition not a clone of anything that has ever existed if you install an E46 bumper and wheels on an E36, but whatevs. No worries.

Side skirts, taillights , 3 spoke steering wheel , seats, shift knob, and continuing.. like I said a work in progress, don't hate we all like German made cars. Everyone has different OPINIONS, lol, and taste.

Certainly not hating, but I would recommend backing off on the "laugh in the face" idea until you have something other than a few cosmetic modifications on your car.

+1. Why would you care anyway? Mine is an actual M3 with a mountain of performance mods and a pretty decent collection of interior/creature comfort mods and its still "just an E36" to me... because its just an E36.
