AM radio static
Hello all,
Just wanted to check if any of you have run across this problem. I have an 08 535i. Recently when listening to the AM radio I am hearing static when the brakes are applied. This happens only while moving and applying the brakes. When the car is stopped and the brake pedal pushed, no static. The stereo is the basic model, no logic 7. I also have the same issue with my 08 535xi.
Always thought it was the area til I realized it was happening in my driveway! |

I experience the issue when the rear window defrost is turned on. Sounds like electrical interference of some kind. The brake lights in your case?

I can't speak for the OP but I get my static when really slowing to a stop not just light touching the brakes.
Wondering if there is interference with the brake sensors?...Just a thought. Either way I'm sure it will all lead to a bad ground somewhere. |

Yes, the harder you brake, the louder the static. Does anyone know if 08's have the taillight wiring problem?
