I would highly recommend the Route 66 Easy Street Warranty. I recently purchased my 2008 535xit and got this warranty with 78k on the car. Cost was $2,400.00. Good for 48 months or 48k miles. I compared it line by line to the BMW platinum extended warranty, and this is more comprehensive, less expensive, and NO deductible, plus, I can go to my trusted indy rather than have to rely on the dealer.
So far I have had a rear auto-levelling module fail, and a few weeks later a car access system module. I was all geared up for the expected argument, but they paid for both in full, including labor, with no hesitation. I had been extremely skeptical of warranty companies before this, but I must say I am completely satisfied with these people so far. Be aware, this product is only sold through certain credit unions. Since I was not a member, I simply opened a $50.00 savings account and purchased the warranty at the same time. The total liability of the company is limited only to the book value of the vehicle. BTW, roadside assistance is also included.

----------------------------- I did the EXACT thing in Feb of this year at 47 months and 43k milea - extending the warranty to 100K total miles or 60 additional (not total) months. Glad to hear your 1st repair went smooth - I have not had to use them yet. Let's keep in touch Dave

You didn't say where in NH, but I am in Hampton. Why don't you PM me and we can discuss the warranty and my indy, ok?

I'd be very cautious as to the fine print. I bought an extended warranty and the indy shop who sold it to me and the card the warranty company sent me told me the car had to be maintained according to mfrs.' schedule. Well, of course no problem with that. Then one day I read about some problems other folks are having with this warrantor and they have a fine print clause in the contracts that says oil change every 3K or its void. Sure enough that clause is in mine. I had been getting my oil done every 4-6K miles which is obviously still way under BMW recommended minimums.
So now I am stuck with a warranty that I really don't know if it will pay anything at all if I need it. Talked to a different indy shop that does my oil changes and a lot of warranty work, they said this particular company is terrible about using the oil change thing to get out of repairs, even for things totally unrelated to oil or the engine. This is one of the major aftermarket warranty companies too. Tried to cut my losses and at least get a pro-rated return back on the unused period of the warranty from the company. Says they will on the website but, shocker, no, can't do that either. So, in part its my fault for not being more careful when purchasing I know. But man I would like to have the chance to go back and put that $3K+ in the bank instead.

Route 66 oil change is 6k miles or 6 months. Tried to negotiate longer, but since I change at 7K anyway, was not a big deal. My local BMW dealer (Bridgewater NJ) Only charges $79...and washes my car. So not that much if a big deal for me.

The dealer does mine at 10,000, and I change my own once in between each dealer change, at 5,000. This satisfies both Route 66 and me.

Two words: Fidelity Platinum
It's an exclusionary plan meaning it states the only things that are not covered, and its a short list... everything else is covered Most plans say what they will cover, there are lots of parts in cars, that means if something breaks thats not on the list, you're screwed Walk into a few BMW dealerships, walk into the service dept. and ask some of the guys which extended plan is the easiest to deal with and covers the most, they'll all say Fidelity Platinum Worth every penny! |

i just got a 528i 2010 37k miles. car is still under factory warranty till july 13. 2013. i bought a extended warranty because my previous car was a 370z 2009 and i used the extended warranty twice for the ignition starter. 1st time was 900 dollars second time was over 1k. thank God i had extended warranty from mpp. i paid 2.5k for the warranty and after 8 months i cancelled it and im getting over 2k pro rated. at the time my interested was 12% so i shud b seeing over 2k. for the bmw i got this premier warranty ''bumper to bumper '' additional 4years/60k miles from pwi '' preferred warranty inc. '' i paid 3.300 for it.free towing, loaner etc. i searched online and i didnt see any good reviews from that company, it was the other way around. i saw alot of bad reviews. as we all know u have 30 days to cancel the warranty and get 100% refunded. i still have about 10 days left. should i cancel or keep it. i went to bmw and they are offereing me 3yrs/100k miles for 3380. the platinum warranty, covers basically everything except suspension, brake tires etc. covers additional sutff like nav, cd players blablabla. i wanted to know if anyone here have anything to say about pwi '' preferred warranty inc. '' i talked to the finance guy today, and he said maybe those ppl who r complaining didnt read their contract saying what was covered and not thats y the warranty didnt pay for the claim. that a costumer with a transmission problem on a mercedes got his transmission fixed and pwi payed over 14k for his repair. u never know who is telling the truth.
