Paint film protection
My 545i just has the front end repainted. Was thinking about applying one of those clear paint protection films to minimize road rash that I picked up over the last 75k. Any experiences with these? Are they effective? If so, what manufacturers are the best?

do it yourself, but I prefer not to have one put on. I get a lot of sandblast from fast driving, and white undercoat shows up on a jet black car. 3M suppose to make a good product.

hi jbehler,
I think it's okay if you apply protection films. Protection films will lose its gloss though after a few years. But, you will just have to apply wax to the film to keep its gloss. You can use 3M Scotchguard or Armourfend. They're good protection films, i suppose. Cheers! |

ZAK products have always done me well. ZAK TEK exterior and interior protection is the best you can buy in my opinion.
