Help airbags deployedd
Guys I need an advice...so a couple of hours ago I got into an accident (front collision) both my front airbags deployed...everything was working in the car (radio, heater, electrical stuff) but my car wouldn't start. everytime I tried to start it; it said "Airbad system restraint.." and the airbag sign came on...any advice? is this a serious damage? Thanks for your help! (I have attached the pic of how the front looks)

From what I've read, there is a safety fuse or breaker that trips and shuts down the car when you get into a front end accident. This needs to be reset in order for the car to start. You will need to talk to BMW or a certified BMW body shop to get it going again. Your insurance should really be handling all of this.

You need a new front bumper and grilles. The hood looks like it can be saved. But any unseen damage behind the bumper will need to be replaced along with your air bags and the fusable link I mentioned above. You are looking at several thousand dollars easy just for what I see in the pic. I hope you have full coverage insurance.

Yes I have full coverage for the vehicle. (Thank God) Do you have any ballpark figure for just the airbags? Some people told me 10k? :o :s :;(

I pulled up BMW E60 Air bags on E-bay and saw them going for several hundred dollars each. Figure double or triple the price for brand new. I wouldn't sweat the price since the insurance will cover it. All you will have to worry about is the deductible.

Depends where you go. I go to Rallye Collision on Long Island. They are a certified BMW repair shop. I had about the same damage as you but in the rear. Took about a week. They do excellent service. You don't want somebody rushing it and screwing it up. You should also put in for a loaner car from the insurance while your ride is getting repaired. Rallye is located near Roosevelt Field shopping mall in Nassau County.
Good luck!

Did you get a police report that shows the other driver at fault?? If so, what you really want to do is go after the other drivers insurance company, not your own. However, based on the pictures of the impact it looks like you may have been at fault and rear ended somebody. In this case you may find the other driver will go after your insurance company as well. Insurance claims centers are usually 24x7x365 so no need to wait to get the claim process started and scheduling an assessor.
