E36 wiring harnesses interchangable on year models?
My son found a complete engine wiring harness salvaged from a 1992 325i for sale and wondered if it could be used on a 1995 model year 325is. Thanks

It won't work because the '92 car is pre-VANOS.

To continue the thread; is it possible to swap in an M50tu engine with an associated wiring harness and 413 DME into a -92, or are more parts needed? I.e., I'm thinking of VANOS-ing a -92.

You could swap in a Vanos motor if you have the harness and DME. Physically everything is the same

Thanks! The search for a wrecked 10/92 to 12/93 (for the non-EWS red label 413) commences. I realized that I also will need the MAF since the non-VANOS one is incompatible.
