F12 / F13 (2012 - Current)
The future is now! The all new 6 series coupe (F12) and convertible (F13) details are out and dealers are taking orders. Still no word on when the 4 door Gran Coupe will go into production. |

20" winter tires...can't find any!?
I'll be picking up my new 650i GC this Saturday. I have the M-Sport pack with the 20" twin spoke rims. I also have a set of Vossen CV3 that I plan on using as my summers so I'd like to take the factory 20" M rims and convert them to winters.
I'm well aware of the idea that 20" winters are not the way to go but I'm ok with that...I'd just like some ideas of what my options are? Anyone out there have any 20" winter tires on their 6 ?

I ended up buying an extra set of 18" wheels for the winter with the correct offset. Going from 20" to 18" gives you choice in winter tires and more importantly in the colder road destroying weather you'll get more rubber on the road to cushion those inevitable pot holes.

I've been running 19" winter setups for the past 5 years without any issues and I live in Canada! I figured 20" wouldn't be that big of a difference. Not to mention I have a set of 20" M-double spoke rims just sitting here that I'd like to use rather than spending the money on a set of 18" rims that'll have my car not looking as good during the long Canadian winter months!

I saw some options for 20" winter tires as I was looking into winterizing the GC. You will be looking at around $1600+ dollars to outfit the GC with winter shoes. I found quite a few pairs of tires on tirerack.com, though the front will have more options then the back due to the width. Good luck with your search and keep us updated. I have 640 GC with the M-Sport wheels as well.

Ended up going with Pirelli Sottozero II winters in 245/35-20 all around.
The diameter is the same in front and 0.01% different with the rear...the load ratings are within BMW spec for the front and rear axle as well. We'll see how they do with the first snowfall....might be a little sliding but I'll look cool doing it on 20's !!! lol
