If you have the interface and XP or Win7 32 bit then we could code your X5 remotely.

Just curious, why do people actually need DVD while in motion? Kids in the back have to angle themselves between the two front seats to see the screen. Front passenger has the best view....and I really shouldn't even have to say anything about the driver watching DVD while moving should I.

I prefer my iPad with Netflix/Amazon Prime/HBO Go/Watch ESPN/etc stream over a fixed location DVD player.

I got an genuine answer from one guy that I coded.

He wants to watch porn with his girl friend on the go. I couldn't say anything else.

All that is done by coding is to change the speed value from 03mph to 99mph for the DVD to inactivate only. Thereby it remains active all the way to 99mph

This. I don't understand why people drop $$$ on a DVD player in cars these days. Get an iPad with 4G and stream over the air. Even with the data plan, it's cheaper than the stupid DVD players.

^^ Stupid DVD player is not a temptation to break into your car should you forget it in the up position. Try doing that with an iPad and tell me the result. That said, we do both

Hmm, I think I might get one of these DVD in motion CDs. I like the idea of having a music DVD playing while I am driving, even if I am only glancing at it occasionally.

Now, how do I rip a DVD on my iMac so that I can sync it with the iPad to then use it with Bluetooth in the X5?

Bought the DVD in motion and downloaded to CD. Installation worked first time and I now have DVD in motion. Brilliant, my wife loves it when she is a passenger.

Just go to bmwcoding.com and ask few forum members there that are doing coding. Just need a $25 cable and a laptop. They will login into the laptop via the internet and make the changes, cost you nothing.

Hi I am new here, but have read a lot about the coding. I have a 2012 X5 E70. Tried to code VIM all weekend without any luck at all.

I modified the CIC.C0D, with NCSDUMMY disassembled & reassembled the File.
Speedlock_X__KMH_Max_COE= 3kmh
Speedlock_X__KMH_Min_COE= 3kmh Replace (03) with (FF)
Saved file to CIC.C0D replaced existing file. Then edited the NETTODAT.TRC file and set both speedlocks to 3_kmh. save the file as a NETTODAT.man also saved as NETTODAT.TRC and FSW_PSW.TRC & FSW_PSW.MAN also set Video_Nur _Mit_Handbremse to "nicht_aktiv"

Checked all 4 files for changes, Changes were made in all 4 files.

Then I went to code the car, used NCSEXPER, loaded CIC, went to "coapiCodeSgByNetto data clicked ok it came up with CIC.C1A assumed it's the same as CIC.C0D and loaded NETTODAT.MAN it loaded no problem. System rebooted and I read the CIC.C0D and it went back to original settings. tried several time every time same result. I even tried just coding with the FSW_PSW.MAN same result.

Can anybody help, let me know if I have missed anything. I know the changes are done in the NETTODAT.MAN & FSW_PSW.MAN. When I am coding.

The VIM can be done without modifying the daten files.

Just change the value on the nettodat.man file to FF and put them back. There are instructions out there and just google it.
