Dual pane glass...

Seems that those that do have them are selling complete sets and are a bit proud of the gold mines they believe they possess. Its just glass after all... oh yeah and some plastic. Neither element considered precious by any means.
So here's the question... Can single pane glass be used as a replacement in the dual pane install? Assuming new channel rubber would be required or will the window frame simply not accommodate this as an option?

I'm not sure about the channels, but refer to realoem.com for comparison of the window regulators themselves. This will tell you at least if the glass is interchangeable. If not, replacement of the regulators and glass would be necessary. Prepare for increased noise- the dual pane glass is very quiet.

+1. Stick with dual pane. So it costs a bit more. So did the car when new.

Yup, stick with double pane. Any other glass feels flimsy compared to it. And yes, it's waaaaay quieter.

Thanks. It has been my intention to stick with the dual pane ultimately, but have some other restoration issues that have been and are more pressing in the meantime. Just thinking of throwing the single pane windows in for the time being to improve both visibility and aesthetics.

Single pane is soooo much thinner you will have to install it with Blue-Tac.

Splain Blue-Tac please?
